Paragon

Just a quick entry to say that I'm still here. My last few days have been kind of hectic with Real Life stuff, and I had to make a couple of unexpected out-of-town trips, so I haven't had a lot of time for net-related activities. Of course, the release of the DC Hypertime set for Heroclix hasn't helped any... ;-)

Anyway, this gave me some time to think about what projects I'll be working on next. I have decided that Paragon: Apocalypse is a definite go. I've scribbled enough notes for it, by now, that it would be silly not to use them. I have no idea what the time frame for its release will be, though. I've written up all the race-related info and am working on classes now. With any luck, the character creation section will be finished by the end of next week. Then I have to figure out the equipment section, which will probably be quite a bit longer than the one in Paragon. Then the game mechanics section, which will probably be fairly short, since Paragon pretty much already covered everything relevant to the genre (except for more detailed radiation rules). Then, finally, some sort of creature section, which will probably take a while. That will be fun but also time-consuming, I imagine. I might also do some sort of sample campaign write-up, as I have some ideas for it. Not sure about that one, yet, though.

In the meantime, I'll be releasing another non-Paragon netbook a good deal sooner. Just before I started work on Paragon, back in the early spring, I was running a D&D campaign and put together a rather large book for my world, Tolemica. I had planned to clean the whole thing up and release it for public consumption, at some point, but simply never got the chance, once Paragon took over my free time. I was poking around my old work files, a few days ago, and stumbled across the book again, which set me to thinking about its release. As it turned out, the stuff I had already finished was tighter than I thought and almost ready to go, already. So, it should only take a few more days to finish it off to my satisfaction. It isn't going to be quite as long or as detailed as I had originally planned, but I figure that releasing it in its current state is better than never releasing it at all. Besides, at nearly 100 pages of dense text, it should be plenty long enough to keep people busy for a while, as is. In particular, it has a very large section on religion, detailing over three dozen deities and scads of new domains and spells. That alone should make it worth downloading, even for those who don't want to use the world information.

As always, I'll post progress reports here and make an announcement when each book is released, so check back regularly, if you don't want to miss out. In the meantime, if you have any questions or comments, don't hesitate to drop me a line. I've gotten a little behind in my correspondence, the last few days, but I do read everything you send in and have a pretty decent track record for replying promptly, most of the time.

Oh, and if some kind soul is out there, saying to himself, "Gee, I wonder what I could do to thank Cwylric for all the work he has been doing for us...?", I have just two words for you: Veteran Batman. I've bought scads of Heroclix boosters and I still can't seem to get the little bugger... ;-)
